  • I do my scheduling quarterly, and book three months at a time approximately one month in advance. Eg, in mid-December I will schedule for January, February and March. Booking details are announced first in my newsletter and then on Instagram. When my books are open, there will be a submission form available on my website. Only requests received through the webform will be considered for scheduling. Because of the high volume of requests I receive every booking period, I’m not able to accommodate all submissions. If I feel your project is better suited to another artist, I will happily direct you to them, and if your project is not accepted in one round you are welcome to submit it in the next round.

  • I always receive more requests than I have time to schedule, so projects are selected based on what I feel I can do well and find artistically engaging. Drawn-on botanical work and one-off designs out of my flash book are always high on my priority list, as are large, single-subject botanicals, esoteric imagery, vintage engravings and artwork, birds, and scientific subjects.

  • I do not use any color in my work, but I work with three other amazing artists and would be happy to refer you to someone who does tattoo in color. I do not tattoo stand-alone lettering, mixed floral arrangements under 10” tall or trees. It should go without saying but I also refuse to tattoo any imagery that is hateful, derogatory or prejudiced in any way.

  • I am willing to consider cover-ups on a case-by-case basis. My work relies heavily on open space so I’m limited in the things I’m able to cover, and if you would prefer full coverage of the existing tattoo I may not be the right artist for you. I have had success with cover-ups after laser removal treatment and would be happy to provide a referral for this service. If you are submitting a request for a cover-up I require at least one clear, straight-on picture of the existing tattoo be included with your submission so I can accurately assess your project.

  • I guarantee my own work and will touch up anything I have done for free within a year from the date of the tattoo. I will touch up tattoos on hands and feet once for free, and then will charge a nominal fee for further touch ups, due to the nature of the skin in these areas.

  • I charge $175 per hour, with my average single session tattoo being in $250-700 range. While I will always try to accommodate a reasonable budget, I do have a $100 minimum, and large multi-session work is all hourly.

    I also have a portion of my flash book filled with smaller tattoos with fixed prices of $100-300 so if you’re looking for small, budget-friendly options please request a small flash appointment when my books are open.

  • I do require a non-refundable deposit of $100 dollars to schedule an appointment. The deposit comes off the price of your tattoo, at the final session if we need more than one. If you need to reschedule your appointment for any reason, please contact me at least 48 hours beforehand to retain your deposit. In cases of sudden illness or emergency, contact me as soon as possible and I will work with you.

  • • Get a good night’s sleep, hydrate and eat a decent meal before your appointment. It’s much easier to sit through a tattoo if your body is fueled and rested.

    • It can be a good idea to bring a water bottle and snacks with you, especially if we have a longer session scheduled.

    • Please limit the number of people who come with you to the appointment, one support person is fine but out of respect for the other artists and clients do not bring children or large groups.

    • Please wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area of the body we will be tattooing and bring a sweatshirt or cover up if you tend to get cold easily.

    • Do not come to your appointment drunk or otherwise chemically impaired. You will be turned away and forfeit your deposit.

    • If you are sick, please contact me to reschedule! 48 hours of notice is preferable but sudden illness will always be respected and you will retain your deposit for a future reschedule date. Tattooers don’t get sick leave and the close contact of tattooing makes illness a real risk.

  • I am one human with a busy job, a family and other interests outside of work, so I’m unable to show drawings in advance. I will have your drawing ready at your appointment, and there is always time to make changes to the design at that time. If you request major changes to the design, I do reserve the right to reschedule your appointment in order to respect the time of my other clients. If your appointment is for a flash book choice you will get to see my available flash at your appointment time.

  • Tips are always appreciated but never expected. I set my own schedule and rates, and in no way depend on tips to pay my bills. It is fairly common to tip tattooers similarly to other personal care providers, especially to express your appreciation for your experience. An average tip is usually in the $20-50 range, depending on the size of the piece, but any tips are always appreciated. I do love coffee and baked goods, if that’s more your style.
